Franky’s Painting Service, LLC does residential painting services and commercial painting services. One of the paint brands we use the most is Promar 200. It comes with 0 v.o.c levels. They weren’t sure what the color was, so we cut out a small piece of the wall to bring it with us to Sherwin Williams. The guys over there put it in the computer to get the color match. The computer does a good job on its own, but to get the best result it needs the help of a good human eye. After tweaking the match, we came up with a perfect match. Most of these apartments get painted and the floors get changed every time a resident moves, that’s the reason why the floors are not covered. Do not worry, we will protect your floors!
One of the keys to painting a ceiling is to keep a wet edge. Which means we don’t apply paint on top of semi dry paint, we apply applying on top of wet paint, so it all dries together more uniformly. Ideally you want to have the floor as empty as possible so you can continue to paint the ceiling without having to worry too about about looking at the floor to make sure you’re not going to trip with the client’s furniture/belongings.
A good tip would be to use the right roller. If you’re rolling ceilings with a 9inch frame 3/8 nap then you’re going to have a rough time. You want to use a 18 inch frame and a 1/2 nap. Some people would even use a 3/4 inch nap on the ceiling, but no, 1/2 is enough. 3/4 would leave too much texture. There’s also one inch and a quaerter 1 1/4 but that’s for porous surfaces like bricks or cement blocks. Unless that’s what you want, use a 1/2 inch nap for drywall ceilings like the pros do.
Another good tip is to use your full left and right arm length. As you see in the video, you want to stand in the middle of the room and roll all the way to your left and all the way to your right. This way you’re using the full potential of your arms and extension pole. You will get paint drips all over your self, so I would recommend wearing a mask unless you like a little paint with your oxygen, We do NOT recommend adding paint to your oxygen!! Getting paint inside your eyes is also frowned upon by health workers, so let’s get those masks on people.
