The pole was too big to dip in the paint bucket without hitting the walls nearby, so we unlatched the frame off the pole without having to unscrew it, makes it much quicker and easier. You need to have this extension pole to be able to connect and disconnect the roller frames quick and easy instead of the traditional way of unscrewing, They call it the Purdy Quick Connect system. You can also use it on any acme threaded frame,

The locking mechanism is very durable. From personal experience, the only thing I would recommend to NOT do is have the extension pole with the roller extended all the way up in the air and press the release button and let the weight of the roller bring the extension pole fast. Instead, you should try to press the release button and manually re insert the pole back in its original position.

Pressing the release button and letting the weight of the roller bring down the extension pole tends to mess up the locking mechanism. One of my oldest extension poles doesn’t lock in random lengths like it’s supposed to because I let the weight of the roller bring the extension pole down too many times.

Now let me tell you about the roller frame, it is called the Purdy Revolution 18″ Fixed Frame. This is one of the cool ones, you can tell by the way it looks. Very easy to use. You just loosen up the butterfly wings on the bottom of the frame, open the arm’s length of the frame and put the roller in it. Closet it and tighten it back up.

Now the cool part is the quick latch mechanism, it is called the Quick Connect. You can press a button and stick the Purdy Powerlock Extension Pole in the frame without having to unscrew it like the traditional way. It can also be used by screwing in if you happen to not have the Purdy Powerlock Extension Pole yet. Perfect if you need to first buy the frame, make some more money, then buy the extension pole or vice versa.
